If you’re looking to add more ‘greens’ to your diet but can’t quite make yourself eat enough veggies during the day, then It Works! is a substitute you can try. I was given a chance to try out a week supply of these ‘greens to go’ berry packets made by It Works! I checked out their website to get more information. It Works is a company that provides beauty and wellness products and allows people to join and become distributors. I’ve joined so many of these types of programs/companies before like Visalus, Nu Skin, Avon, etc. But today, I’m not here to talk about the whole business aspect and I’m just wanting to share my personal experience with the products I tried out.
I can honestly say I’m one of those people who do not eat enough fruits and vegetables everyday. In fact, after doing some research, a majority of the foods I eat fall under the acid forming foods category. I love meat, popcorn, rice, pastas, and am a major coffee addict. From what I have read, symptoms of an over acidic body includes: constant fatigue, lack of energy, headaches, dry skin, easily run out of breath, constant sighing (really?? hmm), muscle pains and more. Having too much acid in your body can make you more susceptible to diseases. There are now recipe books you can buy for an alkaline diet. As much as I would love to create all the dishes and meals everyday on those recipe books, I just don’t have that kind of time.

These packets are handy and convenient. The berry flavored greens were really tasty. All you need is 1 packet a day mixed with a glass of water or juice. I don’t recommend using it as a meal replacement because I still felt hungry after. They recommend not drinking this at least 3-4 hours before bedtime. I actually ended up drinking this later in the afternoon just before I hit the gym. Usually around 4 or 5 pm. I definitely felt that surge of energy but without the jitters. In fact, I ended up losing sleep during the 5 days I tried it. Most times I’d be in bed by 11pm but with this I was up til 2 am. I could probably stay up longer if I didn’t force myself to sleep. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, because if you have a problem with constant fatigue and lack of energy, this might just be something you need. So, if you’re body reacts the way mine does, I would recommend drinking this early in the morning or just before noon to allow your body to use up all that energy earlier in the day.
After 5 days, I also tried the ultimate body applicator. It’s a 45 minute body wrap that you place on your choice of body area. So I chose my stomach. This wrap helps tighten, tone and firm the area where it’s been applied. After I removed it, I didn’t notice much of a difference right away. But the next day I woke up, my stomach felt flatter. I ran to the mirror and was pretty impressed that I looked and felt less bloated. I actually sent my sisters a message telling them my stomach looked good. LOL. Too bad I only had one applicator because I probably would’ve covered my whole body with it everyday for a month.
