Make a Move for a Cause: Join the KidSport MOVE430 Challenge

Get ready to MOVE for a good cause! The KidSport MOVE430 Challenge is a virtual event that challenges you to commit to any type of movement for at least 30 minutes for 30 consecutive days during the month of April. By participating in this challenge, you’ll not only improve your own health and fitness, but you’ll also be supporting KidSport’s mission to ensure that all kids aged 18 and under can play a season of sport, regardless of their financial situation.

What is KidSport?

KidSport is a non-profit organization that provides funding for kids from families that need financial support to help cover the cost of sports registration fees. With 40 chapters across the province, funding for KidSport directly shapes sport in each of those communities. Each chapter raises funds, accepts applications, and distributes grants in its own community. For communities that don’t have a chapter, funding requests are supported through KidSport BC’s Provincial Fund.

Did you know that one in three Canadian kids can’t afford to participate in organized sports, especially kids from marginalized or remote communities? KidSport is working hard to change that by providing confidential grants to help cover the cost of registration fees so that all kids can play a season of sport.

What is the KidSport MOVE430 Challenge?

The MOVE430 Challenge is a virtual event that challenges you to commit to any type of movement for at least 30 minutes for 30 consecutive days during the month of April. You’ll need to track your activity to complete the challenge and earn your digital challenge badges.

This challenge is open to all ages, and any movement either indoors or outdoors that you can continue for 30 minutes counts as an activity. Run, bike, golf, swim or even stretch out in Pilates or dance “up a storm”! There is no requirement for speed, distance, or any additional metric beyond 30 minutes of activity.

How can you get involved?

To participate in the MOVE430 Challenge, simply register for $30.00 per person, which includes Digital Challenge Badges, discount vouchers, and a chance at winning prizes! 100% of your registration fees go to the KidSport Chapter of your choice/community, providing grants to families in need with youth to help cover the cost of registration for sports programs.

You can register between February 15th and April 1st, and activities need to be completed each day before midnight in order to be counted toward completion. The link to the Activity Tracker will be sent out to participants on March 31st. The best practice is to track your activity daily for the full 30 days (April 1-30).
